I have a bench press yoga mat one set a 5 pound dung bells and a yoga ball. i want to set up a home gym for my family of 4, but we do not have much money… so what is needed for a mini home gym equipment?
I suggest Weider Total Body Works 5000. It is a true full body workout and really cheap in price.

I am looking to start weight training and trying to decide whether it’s more cost effective to buy my own equipment or join a gym.
My question is….. if I decide to buy my own equipment what equipment is essential? I’ve been looking at olympic type barbell and dumbbells. A good solid bench with a squat stand. Anything else I need? I dont need any cardio equipment as I have the road outside and a good bike.
Thanks
A home gym is obviously more cost effective if you intend to be working out for a long time or have other people who would use the weights as well, like family, friends, etc.
If you want a home gym, you should stick with free weights unless you’ve got the money to fork out for a machine or two. Free weights are generally considered the best however, as machines are mostly for beginners. You’ll definitely need a bench press set complete with barbell and plates…probably another barbell or two (you might consider getting two – a regular one and a cured one), a variety of 45lb, 25lb, 10lb, and 5lb plates (1lb plates if you’re fussy). Get adjustable dumbbells that work with 10lb and 5lb plates as well so you can adjust the weight on them for different purposes. With this, you can do pretty much every well-known exercise: bench pressing, bicep curls, dips, power cleans, squats, lunges, etc. You’re only really missing a pull-up bar, which really depends on how much stress your door frames can take (you have to attach them to the top of a door and if the wood’s rotten…). Then again you could always do bent-over rows instead of pull-ups.
I would say get four of each plate except for the 10lb and 5lb ones; get 6 of those. 2~4 more of each if you intend to have a workout buddy.

A clear picture would be good, but a copy of a manual would be better.
i would suggest checking their website for the owners manual…

I have a very small apartment but I love working out. I’ve recently lost a ton of weight and would like to keep my body tone. I’m not sure what gym equipment to get that would really help me out and still fit in my apartment. I’m a college student and I work in different places, so going to a local gym is not an option- I’d rather work out on my own time. Thank you in advance for your suggestions
Well i am a very cheap person and i also have a small place to work out and i found the cheapest and most affective way to work out in a small area are with resistance bands and push up blocks and a sit up mat. You can go on youtube and find many different work outs with a resistance bands and also find different types of push ups and sit ups to do. hope i helped
