Opinions-what’s the best home exercise equipment to invest in?

From your experience? Such as…the gazelle, a treadmill, elliptical, bike, just when I’m not in the mood to go to the gym and for the winter months.

treadmill, or elliptical. They both provide complete workouts, and target all major leg muscles. I like ellipticals better, since they are easier on my knees.
Even better, get an elliptical with handles (cross-trainer) or a nordic-ski machine, and you’ll get a complete workout. The gazelle is not stable enough, so it’ll need to be tightened often, and I don’t really care for bikes since they don’t target my butt.However, if more than one person will be working out, bikes or treadmills are the best, since they are the sturdiest, and guys sometimes feel weird using ellipticals b/c of the angle of motion. Bikes require the least amount of fixing, they break very rarely, and they last the longest.

So, if it’s just for you, I’d suggest a cross-trainer or an elliptical, but make sure you read the instructions to know how to fix it if it breaks.
If you’re going to use it a lot, and don’t want to invest in repairs, get a bike, since they are the sturdiest.
Also, invest in a yoga mat (or just get a thicker old towel) to do sit-ups on, and get some free weights for toning exercises You can get a complete set with various weights for less than $50 in most stores.

    I would say the elliptical, or the treadmill. How awesome would it be to run 3 miles a day in your own home, no matter what the weather is like outside? I definitely want to invest in one of those soon :)

    Tennis Equipment. If you play you will have a great time, while getting into great shape. If you really want to get into shape, when your done playing take 15 minutes to work out on the court. Do some jumping jacks, push ups. sprint from line to line like in basketball. Hurdle the net a few times….after a few weeks of fun, not only will you be a better player, but youll need to buy a belt to hold your pants up

    it depends on what you like to do. if you don’t have a preference i would go with a treadmill or a bike maybe even an elliptical if you have knee problems. treadmills are probably the most versatile peice of equipment you can have because they allow you to make it more difficult for yourself by increasing pace as well as incline. to target different muscles you can walk backwards. i personally HATE biking and elliptical so i would go with a treadmill :)

    All the equipment that you have mentioned are good,. To know which one is the best you have to ask yourself that question.

    Which one would YOU want to use? Each piece of equipment has it’s benefits and one is really not superior the the other, so you should see which one would be best into your lifestyle.

    How much room do you have?
    Is there anyone living below you?
    How are you on storage space?
    Do you have any knee or ankle problems?

    Everyone can give their opinion of what they like to use but that doesn’t mean that you will want to use it all the time.

    Which piece will you be less likely to get bored of?
    Then you’ll know which one is for you.

    i’m going with a treadmill, especially the ones that go up and down and have several pre-programmed workouts.

    (and then i have one of those cheapy mini-stepper machines, just to throw in a different motion once in a while)
