Which is better, a rowing machine or cross trainer?

I’m looking to buy some home gym equipment, but unfortunately have no knowledge of fitness haha, i am getting either one of these, but which one do you think is best?
I want to tone my arms, slim my legs down, and lose weight overall. Which would help me the most?
Oh and also, could anyone recommend somewhere where i could buy one!

Thank you : )

CuriosityKilledTheCat,

A ROWER is definitely a great piece of exercise equipment to meet and exceed your needs. They are inexpensive compared to other fitness equipment, but will be able to help you tone your arms, legs and overall weight loss.

Indoor rowing primarily works the cardiovascular systems and stresses many muscle groups throughout the body anaerobically, thus rowing is often referred to as a strength-endurance sport.

You have been warned, indoor rowing is an addictive and fun exercise! :-)

You can view all the most popular rowers on the market at GYMSTORE.COM (full link below). They have a large selection of cardio equipment that you can browse as well.

P.S. Another cost effective alternative are indoor cycle bikes, also know as spinning bikes – which are also found at the same website.

I’d buy a cross trainer, I feel it would probably get used more often.

And I have no clue where to buy it, but I suggest getting it online :)

You will get a more general work out by using the cross-trainer. However you get what you pay for and a decent one will cost you more than a years gym membership where you can use all the machines!

I’d say a rowing machine. The Concept II.

But really the best one is the one you’ll actually use!

I would say a cross trainer, if you are determined to buy either of the two You have mentioned. but the novelty of training on your own, will soon were off and then you have a expensive piece of equipment laying about the house doing nothing, and you won`t get anything like the money you paid for it as second hand. for that reason a fitness club, which as all the equipment you will ever need is the best thing to do, also you will have company, and it is surprising how you will make new friends and therefore be more likely to continue with your fitness training. by the way I am speaking from experience.Good luck with what ever you try
